STANDING WITH WESTERN AUSTRALIANS

The Labor Government is showing contempt and arrogance on the issues that matter. In just nine full sitting days so far, and with an energetic and committed team in place, we’re landing hits on the Government on a range of issues, including highlighting gaps in GPS monitoring of family and domestic violence offenders, continuing failures in the health system, wrong priorities on the Burswood racetrack and a lack of transparency on the NRL deal.
Last week, Shadow Housing Minister David Bolt gave a voice to Inglewood residents desperate for the Government to listen to their concerns about frightening behaviour at a social housing complex. After months of unanswered pleas to the Housing Minister to address the issue, it took David’s questions in Parliament for them to get a response.
The Opposition is committed to continuing to apply pressure to ensure action and answers on matters that are important to the community and hold the Government to account for its decisions and lack of action.

LISTENING TO WESTERN AUSTRALIANS
The team has been out and about in their electorates listening to constituents' concerns, challenges, issues and achievements. In addition to spending time in Churchlands, I have visited the Wheatbelt, the Perth Hills and the Peel region and next week will head to the Pilbara. From meeting small business owners, community volunteers and people on the street, our commitment to listening is about finding out what really matters to Western Australians, how they feel about the Government’s pet projects and priorities, and what changes would make a real difference to their lives.
I look forward to continuing to visit every corner of our magnificent state as we embark on the road to 2029.

WELCOME TO THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
Welcome to the Parliament of Western Australia to the Liberal Party’s five new MLCs, now part of our 10-strong team in the Upper House. We extend our gratitude to retiring MLCs Peter Collier and Donna Faragher for their enormous contributions and commitment over more than 20 years in Parliament, and for their crucial role in assisting the new members before their swearing-in last week.
