Under Roger Cook’s cost of living crisis, small businesses across Western Australia are suffering with rising costs and taxes that are crushing their ability to employ Western Australians and make ends meet.
For the past eight years, this WA Labor Government has refused to take meaningful action to address rising costs for Western Australian businesses.
One of those costs is payroll tax, as liberals we know that payroll tax is nothing more than a tax on jobs and consumers. As Liberals we know that payroll tax is nothing more than a tax on jobs and consumers.
That’s why a Mettam Liberal Government will slash payroll tax for more than 7,500 businesses across Western Australia. Our plan will see a payroll tax rebate of up to $32,000 to businesses with a wage bill at or under $1.5 million and a partial refund to businesses with a wage bill at or below $3 million.
This means that more than 3,000 employers will effectively pay no payroll tax for the 2024-25 financial year and more than 4,500 businesses would see their payroll tax liability significantly reduced.
Only a Mettam Liberal Government will deliver a plan to slash taxes, boost job creation and build a better future for Western Australia.

EASING COST OF LIVING PRESSURES FOR SENIORS
Seniors on a fixed income are feeling the brunt of Roger Cook’s Cost of Living crisis. Many of our state's 368,000 Seniors WA cardholders are on fixed incomes, whether that be self-funded or a full pension meaning they have a very limited capacity to absorb sky-rocketing costs.
Currently, eligible seniors receive a one off annual payment of $107.12 for singles and $160.68 for couples. This paltry level of support doesn’t reflect the financial pain inflicted on WA Seniors by the collective efforts of Anthony Albanese and Roger Cook.
A Mettam-Liberal Government will give WA Seniors practical and meaningful Cost of Living relief by doubling the Seniors Cost of Living rebate. Under our plan, eligible singles will now receive an annual rebate of $214.25 and eligible couples will receive an annual rebate of $321.16.
This bolsters our plan for Cost of Living relief for WA Seniors, with a government I lead already committed to slashing stamp duty for seniors seeking to downsize into a home that is appropriate for them.
Only a Mettam Liberal Government has a plan to deliver practical, meaningful and sustained Cost of Living relief for all Western Australians.

HITTING THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL
In the first month of this year I travelled across nearly half of the electorates across Western Australia. Visiting communities from Karratha to Kalamunda, from Bunbury to Bateman and everywhere else in between, it’s clear that only a Mettam-Liberal Government can deliver real solutions for the priorities of Western Australians.
Our plan for Western Australia is increasingly resonating with families, small business and community groups because our priorities are the priorities of Western Australians.
Lowering living costs, fixing our broken health system, building more homes and getting more police on the beat.
