Nobody is buying Labor's Spin

Ever since Roger Cook and Rita Saffioti posed in a V8 Supercar to launch the Burswood racetrack in January, this project has stood as the clearest symbol yet of this Labor Government’s wrong priorities.
Despite being the wealthiest state in the nation, Western Australia is now the least affordable place to rent in the country. It takes longer to build a home here than anywhere else in Australia. We’ve seen record levels of ambulance ramping, leaving patients stranded outside hospitals instead of being treated inside them. And teachers are crying out for more support in classrooms. On every front that matters to families – housing, health, education – West Australians are being let down by a Government that has its priorities wrong.
Yet the Cook Labor Government is fixated on a $217.5 million racetrack at Burswood and a $100 million NRL team.
They are now so determined to push the racetrack through that they’ve launched a full rebranding exercise, rebadging it as “Perth Park” and trying to downplay the racetrack at the heart of the proposal. Western Australians won’t be fooled. They know exactly what this project is and always has been - a motorsport precinct that will take over a much-loved green space at an unjustifiable cost – a cost that, like so many Labor projects, is almost certain to blow out.

Over the past fortnight it’s been fantastic to meet with many Party members and supporters at various branch and divisional meetings and events, including with the Dalkeith Branch, the Cowan Division, and at the Young Liberals AGM. A special congratulations to Hannah Hutton on her election as the new WA Young Liberals President.
