Last week I joined our next Prime Minister the Hon Peter Dutton MP in our great state of Western Australia.
Through all our community engagement, if one thing is clear to both Peter and I, it’s that Western Australian voters understand that only a Liberal-National Coalition has a plan for getting our country back on track.
Our plan is simple.
We will strengthen the economy, reduce the burden on Australian families and ensure that every Australian can get ahead.
So, here's how we’ll do it:
Low Inflation: We will rein in wasteful government spending that only fuels inflation. Our focus will be on cutting taxes, reducing red tape and putting an end to union bosses holding small businesses back.
Cheaper Energy: Our energy plan strikes just the right balance. We will include more renewables, increase gas supply and replace retired coal plants with zero-emissions nuclear energy to deliver reliable, affordable power.
Affordable Homes: We will fund critical infrastructure for housing, support first home buyers, limit foreign investment and restore a sustainable migration intake.
Safer Communities: Our commitment to national security is stronger than ever. We’ll tackle violent crime by non-citizens, enhance our defence and border security and focus on improving online safety for children.
Quality Healthcare: We will deliver more GPs, more bulk billing and greater access to mental health services. That’s our promise to Australians seeking affordable and reliable healthcare.
As Peter says: It’s time to put our country back on track and ensure that every Australian can thrive.
MR ALBANESE’S INCOMPETENCE KNOWS NO BOUNDS
You would’ve seen how at the National Press Club Prime Minister Albanese recently delivered a speech full of delusion, denial and deceit.
It was an absolute train wreck. Zero vision and zero policies for Australia’s future in a long time.
And the Australian public can see right through it.
Even the Reserve Bank Governor has repeatedly pointed out that Australia’s rapid and unrestrained government spending is driving home grown inflation.
While Mr Albanese paints a rosy picture of the economy, he conveniently ignores the pain everyday Australians are facing under his government’s cost-of-living crisis.
He trumpets “back-to-back budget surpluses” but that doesn’t solve the problems we are dealing with every single day: rising inflation, sky-high energy bills and stagnant wages.
How can we let this bloke get away with all that?
Let’s face it, from healthcare to infrastructure and education, Mr Albanese’s rhetoric is at odds with reality.
Medicare bulk billing rates have fallen by 11%.
School education standards continue to decline.
Despite his claims that “only Labor will build the new homes we need” Labor has in fact turned a housing challenge into a crisis by allowing a record one million migrants into Australia over the last two years.
Just unbelievable.
Labor’s empty promises, economic mismanagement and failed leadership only leaves us with more reasons to call for an immediate change of government.
As in fact our Federal Leader Peter Dutton has said, these are the questions being asked across Australia:
Are you better off today than you were two-and-a-half years ago?
Do you feel safer and more secure today than you did two-and-a-half years ago?
Do you think our country is more united today than it was two-and-a-half years ago?
The honest answer is three NOs!
Australians are worse off.
It is time to restore confidence in our economy and bring back a government that gets off people’s backs and revives the freedom that allows Australians to flourish.
We need strong leadership to tackle these crises head-on and secure a prosperous future and Peter Dutton is the one for the job.
ALBANESE: LITERALLY THE WORST PRIME MINISTER FOR BUSINESSES
If you still want to hear more reasons for a change of government, I have plenty more to share with you.
The latest figures from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) reveal that more than 27,000 businesses have gone insolvent since Anthony Albanese became Prime Minister.
The December 2024 quarter saw a record 3,852 business failures, the third consecutive quarter of increasing insolvencies under his leadership.
This is literally the worst quarter on record.
Mr Albanese has now overtaken Julia Gillard as the worst Prime Minister for business insolvencies.
Again, unbelievable!
Under Labor’s reckless spending, businesses are closing at an alarming rate.
Cafes, restaurants, and builders are going bust.
There is no way we can afford another three years of Labor’s economic incompetence.
LABOR’S NATURE POSITIVE – MINING NEGATIVE LAWS WILL HURT WA MINING JOBS
Let me tell you another reason why we need Labor out of office.
Last week, Mr Albanese tried to again betray our great state of Western Australia by bringing back to life his dangerous Nature Positive – Mining Negative laws.
Then, within days, he changed his mind after realising these plans weren’t going down well with our mining industry.
This just reminds me of the debacle over the rapid passing and equally rapid repeal of the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage laws in 2024.
Remember that?
Good governance is all about foresight and judgement. Why is it that the Labor Party on all levels has to experiment with dangerous policy announcements first and then change its mind after a backlash?
And don’t’ forget that Mr Albanese had already promised to take these so-called ‘nature positive’ laws off the agenda last year.
How then did this end up back on the agenda for the short-lived period of less than a week?
Did Mr Albanese and his cabinet colleagues not tell him, this was always going to cause delays in major projects, drive up costs and threaten the livelihoods of thousands of hard-working Western Australians?
At times one doesn’t even know the difference between Labor and the Greens.
All that is evident from this debate is that Labor is unfit to govern.
KWINANA FREEWAY UPGRADE: A PRIORITY FOR WESTERN AUSTRALIA
If you think hurting the mining industry is bad, wait till you hear about Labor’s infrastructure madness.
Under Mr Albanese’s watch, Western Australia has seen $2.6 billion worth of infrastructure cuts, delays and cancellations.
Seriously.
Yet in the lead-up to the WA State Election, Labor has announced new road funding.
But make no mistake: Western Australia is not getting its fair share from east coast Labor.
If anything, under Labor’s budget cuts, we will receive less road funding than any state except Tasmania over the next five years!
We recently announced that a Dutton Government will partner with the WA Government to deliver the much-needed upgrade to the Kwinana Freeway, with a $350 million commitment.
This will help ease congestion, create jobs and support industries like WA’s resources sector and live export trade.
STANDING WITH THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA
For Peter Dutton’s visit to Perth, we started the week by joining WA’s Jewish community leaders for their annual Holocaust Remembrance service.
This year marks 80 years since the end of World War II.
And to think that these atrocities were committed in the modern age, less than two generations ago is a horrific reminder of what extremist regimes around the world can do to innocent lives if left unchecked.
Coming to terms with all this helps us appreciate exactly why we need to take a strong stand against the present-day manifestations of antisemitism.
Who would doubt that we have seen and continue to see plenty of this scourge on our own streets in Australia since the 2023, October 7 terrorist attacks.
Like any community, Jewish Australians should not have to fear for their safety at home, in the workplace or online.
The recent wave of antisemitic attacks, including the firebombing of synagogues and a childcare centre, is deeply alarming.
We’ve even seen this scourge play out on our streets here in Western Australia.
Just this weekend, we saw the disgusting neo-Nazi graffiti on a suburban street corner in Dalkeith.
This hate clearly knows no bounds and it has no place in modern Australia.
And worse yet, this incompetent Albanese-Wong alliance has literally had 15 months to get on top of this issue and the response has been appalling.
Only a Dutton-led Coalition Government will stand up against hate, take effective action and ensure the safety and security of all Australians, no matter our faith.
OUR COMMITMENT TO HOLOCAUST EDUCATION
We are proud to announce that we will commit $2 million to the Holocaust Institute of Western Australia to help educate future generations about the atrocities of the Holocaust and the October 7 attacks.
This funding will help complete the fit-out for the Holocaust Institute’s Education Centre in Yokine.
I recall my visit to Jerusalem’s Yad Vashem back in 2010 which is Israel’s key Holocaust Remembrance Museum.
Walking through the zigzag structures of this melancholic monument is by far the most touching experience one can have in life.
Likewise, the funds we have allocated will include world class exhibited as well as interactive displays that will try to convey the story of these atrocities in a meaningful way.
It’s vital that we remember our history and teach future generations the importance of preventing such horrors from happening ever again.
ON THE HUSTINGS IN WA KEY SEATS
After finishing up at JHUB last Monday, Peter and I had the pleasure of joining our candidate Tom White for the Curtin campaign launch in the must-win seat of Curtin.
Later that day we had a fantastic function for Howard Ong the Liberal candidate for the other must-win seat of Tangney to celebrate Chinese New Year.
Howard is out there every single day conveying our message to locals in Tangney.
People are sick of identity politics and cost of living issues, and Howard is the man for the job.
The next day, Peter and I joined David Goode the Liberal candidate for Hasluck for a shopping centre visit.
David has been working hard every single day, getting his name out there, selling our core message to make sure he is able to do exactly this, to deliver us Hasluck.
Let me wrap up by saying this: The next election is fast approaching.
We will need to work hard for every single vote.
For our candidates to be successful, we need you to share our plan with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.
Be sure to let everyone know that a Dutton led Coalition has a plan to Get Australia Back on Track.
This plan can be accessed online at www.liberal.org.au/our-plan
Feel free to get in touch with my office if we can ever be of assistance to you.
