Dear Liberal friends
IT’S GAME ON.
The 2025 Federal Election has been called, and Australians will cast their vote on Saturday 3rd of May.
Over the next 5 weeks, we have one job: to do everything we can to deliver back to Australians what they so desperately need - a Peter Dutton Government.
As Peter said in his Budget in Reply speech - when Australia is governed badly, dreams and ambitions become beyond reach.
And that is what happened during the last three years under the Albanese Government.
Australians all over the country say they’re working harder, but they’re not getting ahead.
The truth is, Australians can’t afford three more years of the Albanese Government.
Every election is important.
But this election does matter more than others in recent history.
It is a sliding doors moment for our nation.
A returned Albanese Government in any form won’t just be another three bleak years.
More economic mistakes will take a long time to recover from.
Setbacks will be set in stone.
Our prosperity will be damaged for decades to come.
This election is about who can better manage the economy and help Australians get ahead.
Australia can’t afford to continue on its current path. Under Labor, inflation is higher, interest rates are up sharply, and we’ve had the largest fall in living standards in history. Housing is unaffordable and our country is less safe.
It is a fact that under the Albanese Labor Government:
Rents are up 18 per cent;
Housing is up 14 per cent;
Groceries are up 30 per cent;
Electricity is up 32 per cent;
Insurance is up 35 per cent.
Australians have experienced the longest household recession – and the worst collapse in living standards – on record.
Under Labor, interest rates have gone up 12 times – with only one cut – and stayed higher for longer compared to similar economies.
And a family with a typical mortgage is $50,000 worse off under Labor.
We need to do better and we can do better.
Let’s rebuild our economy and get Australia back on track.
A Peter Dutton Government will do three things:
First, rein-in inflationary spending.
Second, reduce the cost of energy.
And third, strengthen the economy to work for you.

Our cost of living relief for Australians begins on DAY 1 of a Dutton Government.
A Peter Dutton Government will provide immediate cost of living relief for Australians by providing a 25 cent cut to fuel excise for 12 months. This is a halving of fuel excise.
It means for petrol and diesel, excise rates will be reduced from 50.8 cents to 25.4 cents per litre.
A household with one vehicle filling up once a week will save around $14 a week – an average benefit of around $700-750 over 12 months (based on a 55-litre tank).
For households with two cars filling up once a week, they will save around $28 a week on average – or close to $1500 over 12 months.
Working with industry, we will ensure that heavy vehicle road users also benefit from this measure.
The ACCC will ensure that the fuel excise cut WILL BE passed on in full to consumers.
We will bring in legislation enacting the excise cut on the first sitting day of the next Parliament, allowing the cut to come into effect as quickly as possible.
Amidst Labor’s cost-of-living pressures, charities are experiencing increased demand – including from Australians who have never previously relied on that support.
To scale-up assistance and provide immediate relief, a Peter Dutton Government will commit $50 million for food charities – like Foodbank, SecondBite and OzHarvest – to expand their services and to include school breakfast programs.
And when it comes to the great state of Western Australia, this election is about who can better manage the economy and help Australians get ahead.
Labor has failed Australians, failed to manage the economy, failed to keep us safe and failed to keep us united.
The strong feedback from our candidates doorknocking in WA is that Mr Albanese is on the nose in our state.
WA voters are fed up with his cost-of-living crisis and the betrayal of our state by an incompetent Albanese Labor Government that poses risks to our future prosperity.
Mr Albanese presides over by far the most anti-mining and anti-Western Australia Labor Government in living memory. He is weak and has walked away from Western Australia.
His Labor Government has abandoned entire industries, betrayed farmers and ignored the vital needs of our nation’s most resource-rich state. His ideological shutdown of the live sheep export trade is a perfect example. It is destroying family businesses and regional communities. It has had a devastating impact on Western Australian livelihoods and jobs.
The mining and resources industry is the backbone of Western Australia’s economy and yet it faces unprecedented threats from Labor’s harmful ‘Nature Positive’ laws. If enacted, these proposed laws would result in delayed approvals and compulsory union conditions tied to critical tax credits.
It is precisely these ideologically driven policies that risk billions in investment and cost thousands of Western Australian jobs. They undermine investor confidence at a time when our economy needs certainty the most.
Western Australia deserves decisive leadership that respects and supports its vital industries, safeguards jobs and understands its unique needs.
The Budget shows how Mr Albanese has walked away from WA.
This puts a lot of the seats here in play. There wasn’t anything new in the Budget for WA, other than cuts to our funding.
Mr Albanese is cutting $272 million from our roads while giving piles of cash for roads to the eastern states.
South Australia is set to receive almost twice the road funding that WA will receive over the next four years.
We also learnt this week that Mr Albanese’s Government has further delayed their decision on the extension of the North West Shelf gas hub until after the Federal election.
This is an insult to Western Australians who should be told before the election if this vital job and energy security project is going to be extended into the future or not.
Only a Peter Dutton Government will deliver the certainty, respect and practical policy solutions that Western Australians rightly demand and deserve.
We’re ready to deliver:
A stronger economy with lower inflation;
Cheaper energy;
Affordable homes;
Quality healthcare; and
Safer communities.
And we will govern with respect for the views, values, and vision of everyday Australians.
Australians are worse off under the Albanese Government.
Australians can’t afford three more years of this bad Labor Government.
As Peter said in his Budget in Reply: “I say to Australians tonight, at this election, you can make the right choice”.
A better choice for you, a better choice for your family, and a better choice for your country.
Together, let’s build a stronger, safer, and better Australia.
Let’s get Australia back on track.
