With less than a week to go, early voting centres are now open and we’re in the final stretch of this election.
To every party volunteer that has stepped up: Thank You.
The feedback and insight you’ve provided to the Policy Committee continues to shape the work we do.
I can’t overstate how valuable your contribution is as we power through what’s left of this federal campaign.
Many of you are already out at prepolls lending your time and energy to our candidates right across Western Australia.
Without any doubt, every convo you’re having, every hand you shake, every how-to-vote-card you hand out, you’re making a difference.
All members of the Policy Committee are deployed across different federal campaigns.
We’re out there in the community, manning early voting centres, helping to deliver the message, provide policy support and ensure that our party’s time-tested values remain front and centre.
Australians are listening. We all know that the Coalition is serious about easing cost of living pressures.
Our pledge to cut fuel prices by 25 cents a litre is cutting through.
It’s a relief people can feel immediately.
And it’s especially resonating here in Western Australia where vast distances make fuel affordability not just a policy issue, but a necessity.
With foreign navies patrolling ever closer to our shores, national defence can no longer be treated as an abstract idea.
Western Australia is home to half a billion dollars in oil and gas assets off our northwest coastline.
These are assets we can’t afford to leave unprotected.
That’s why the Coalition’s $21 billion commitment to our national defence announced by Peter Dutton is so crucial.
You’d recall that we’ve passed policy motions at past State Conferences and Federal Councils seeking this boost in defence spending.
It is always great seeing policies that originate within the organisational wing of the party being embraced by the parliamentary wing where suitable to do so.
This policy announcement offers Australians confidence in our future.
It ensures that Western Australians can trust that we’re safeguarded in these uncertain times.
The Teals pose an existential challenge to the Coalition, not through new ideas, but by draining support from our traditional base.
Seats that were once held by Liberal leaders and frontbenchers have fallen into their hands.
This must change.
We can win them back. But we must be focused. We must be united.
And we must be relentless in reminding voters that only the Coalition has a plan to secure the economy, defend our nation and protect the values that built this country.
The work you’ve done so far on leading policy debates at State Council and State Conference has been outstanding, but we’re not there yet.
Let’s push through these final few overs of the innings with all we’ve got.
Every volunteer, every booth and every shift makes a difference.
Thanks again for everything you’ve done and everything you’ll continue to do between now and Saturday 3rd May 2025.
We’re in this together. Let’s win this election. Let’s get Australia back on track.
Regards,
Dr Sherry Sufi
