Policy Committee Report

Writer: Dr Sherry SufiDr Sherry Sufi

2025 is off to a flying start.

With all eyes on the State Election on Saturday 8th March, each of us is fully committed to helping our candidates get our message out to the Western Australian public.

One of our key goals is to provide our candidates with mentoring to ensure they can present our policies clearly and persuasively.

A standout example of recent success was the launch of the Cockburn Campaign on 9th January, where rising star Brunetta Di Russo delivered a flawless speech talking about our priorities for the upcoming election.

On 11th January, we supported Dr Chris Dowson, running in the crucial seat of Bicton, with a seminar on the importance of our traditions and values.

The seminar, which was completely sold out, was packed with thought-provoking content and lively policy discussions.

We have a few more events coming up that you won't want to miss.

On Saturday 25th January, we’re delighted to host a joint community forum, giving party members and the general public the chance to celebrate Australia Day with us.

The panel will feature the Hon Nick Goiran MLC, Senator Matt O’Sullivan, Senate candidate Trish Botha, Dr Chris Dowson Liberal for Bicton, Howard Ong Federal Liberal for Tangney, and Nitin Vashisht Liberal for Bateman.

As I've mentioned in previous reports at State Council, one of our top priorities is reaching out to young voters.

With that in mind, we’re hosting a joint forum on this very topic on Wednesday 29th January at The Victoria Park Hotel on Albany Highway, featuring Michael Dudek Liberal for Joondalup, Andra Biondi Liberal for Victoria Park and Dr Chris Dowson Liberal for Bicton.

All of our events can be accessed at https://www.libmail.org.au/home-1

We hope to see you there.

If you are a Candidate, a Campaign Manager or a Staffer needing some guidance on how to speak persuasively about our policies, be sure to reach out.

We would be glad to assist you.

Regards,

Dr Sherry Sufi
