NOMINATIONS FOR STATE COUNCIL STANDING COMMITTEES

Nominations for all positions on State Council’s Standing Committees are now open.
The key dates are:
Friday, 3 October 2025: Close and distribution of nominations
Nominations close at 12:00-noon
Ballot draw at HQ at approximately 1:30 PM
Distribution of nominations received by email to members of State Council later in the afternoon
Saturday, 11 October 2025: State Council meeting
Registrations open at 8:30AM for a 9:00AM start
Positions available on the various Standing Committees are:
Candidate Selection Committee – Chair and two deputies
Campaign Committee – Chair only
Constitutional and Drafting Committee – Chair (who must be a qualified legal practitioner) and three members (at least two of whom must be qualified legal practitioners)
Marketing and Promotion Committee – Chair and seven members
Membership Services Committee – Chair and seven members
Policy Committee – Chair and seven members
Rural and Regional Committee – Chair and seven members
The State Management Executive will also make a recommendation to State Council for the position of Chair of the Finance Committee.
Note: The members of the Constitutional and Drafting Committee (C&D) are also the members of the Appeals and Disciplinary Committee (A&D). The C&D Chair is also the A&D Chair.
Delegates to Federal Council
Nominations are also open for the 5 Federal Council Delegates to be selected. Please use the standard nomination form.
PROCEDURES
Procedures for the elections are as follows:
Nominations are now open and will close at 12:00-noon on Friday, 3 October 2025.
Nominations are open to any member of the Liberal Party of Australia (WA Division).
Nominations must be on the standard Nomination Form below.
A nomination delivered in person, by post or by email to membership@waliberal.org.au will be acceptable.
Nominations will not be retyped by Head Office.
If you wish to nominate for more than one position, please lodge a separate nomination form for each position.
All nominations, properly signed, should indicate which Standing Committee and which position is being sought.
Please limit your CV to the space provided on the single-page nomination form; no attachments.
The distribution on Friday, 3 October to members of State Council will include all nomination details.
This will be the only communication facilitated by Head Office to members of the State Council.
Balloting will be carried out during the State Council meeting on Saturday, 11 October.
The State Director will be the Returning Officer.
