I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to all members of the WA Liberal Party for the Christmas break and for a healthy and happy 2026.
2025 has been an incredibly busy year for our Party. As I have noted on previous occasions, although the outcomes of the State and Federal elections were not what we hoped for, that was not due to a lack of commitment or effort on the part of our membership.
Although we are not scheduled to have any elections in 2026, there will still be a significant amount of activity occurring the new year. That will start with consultation on our Legislative Council preselection model, continued fundraising activities and development work on training programs that will improve our capacities and campaign readiness as we gear up for the next Federal and State elections.
There is also much work to be done next year on the implementation of the State Election Review recommendations, following the presentation of the implementation matrix at State Council on 6 December.
In the meantime, I encourage everyone to take some time out to spend with loved ones over the coming days. I’m sure that the tragic events in Bondi a week ago have reinforced for many of us the importance of family and strong communities – and Christmas is a time to cherish those things.
Head Office will be closed from midday on Wednesday 24 December, and will re-open on Monday 5 January 2026.
Once again, thank you for everything you have done to support the WA Liberal Party over the past year.
Merry Christmas and best wishes for the year to come.
