I hope that you have had a great ANZAC Day long weekend.

ANZAC Day is a time of solemn reflection, remembering the sacrifices of all Australians who have served in war and other conflicts.

Without their sacrifices, we would not be the great country we are today. Lest We Forget.

Prepoll is now underway and our federal campaign is in full swing.

Our Coalition leader Peter Dutton has already made several visits to Western Australia.

He knows just how vital our State is to secure a better future for the country.

I want to begin by thanking every single one of you who are out there letterboxing, sign-waving, knocking on doors, raising funds and now standing proud at prepoll booths across WA.

Thank you so much for all that you do for our party and its values.

It's your hard work, your time and your belief in what we stand for that has brought us within striking distance of victory.

You are the reason we are in this fight and you are the reason we will win it.

As we head into the final stretch, your efforts at prepoll and on election day itself, Saturday May 3, will make all the difference.

STANDING UP FOR AUSTRALIA’S DEFENCE

The world is getting more dangerous and we cannot take peace for granted.

During these uncertain times Australians can no longer afford a Prime Minister who is weak.

This incompetent Albanese Labor Government has gutted our defence capability, leaving Australia less safe and less secure.

In just three years, Labor has stripped more than $80 billion from Defence.

They have cut projects, delayed decisions and weakened the morale of our armed forces.

They talk up a big game, but their actions speak volumes: not a single new dollar for Defence in their last Budget.

Labor promised to lift Defence spending to 2.4% of GDP.

They’ve now walked away from that target. Can you believe that?

And while our service women and men face foreign intimidation with lasers, flares and sonar targeting their missions, Mr Albanese stands by and says nothing.

No strength. No leadership. No plan to keep Australia safe.

Only a Dutton Coalition Government has the courage and conviction to do what’s needed.

We will deliver more than $21 billion in additional Defence investment over five years.

This increases Defence spending to 2.5% of GDP within that timeframe and hitting 3% of GDP by the end of the decade.

That’s real leadership — not Labor’s hollow words and half-baked measures.

We will reinstate the fourth squadron of F-35A Joint Strike Fighters which is a critical capability Labor recklessly cut.

Our $3 billion commitment to this program is already within our new Defence allocation.

Remember that peace doesn’t come from weakness. It comes from strength. From preparation. From standing firm in the face of adversity.

The Coalition’s investment will restore Australia’s strength, support our service women and men and ensure we can defend our nation in a far more precarious world.

25 CENTS A LITRE BACK IN YOUR POCKET — EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU FILL UP

Under Mr Albanese, Australians are facing the biggest cost of living crisis in a generation.

We've seen the sharpest fall in living standards on record.

This is the worst drop in real disposable incomes of any developed country.

Labor’s response? More spin. More excuses. No relief.

A Dutton Coalition Government will take real action.

On day one of the new Parliament, we will introduce legislation to halve the fuel excise, slashing 25 cents per litre off the cost of fuel.

That’s real, immediate savings for families, tradies and small businesses.

For a typical household with two cars filling up once a week, that’s around $28 a week back in your pocket — close to $1,500 a year.

Only a Dutton Coalition Government will deliver fuel 25 cents a litre cheaper.

That is real relief, ready to be delivered right now.

SAFE COMMUNITIES, STRONG BORDERS, SECURE AUSTRALIA

Labor has made Australia less safe.

They’ve weakened our borders, let people smugglers back in and released more than 300 serious criminals from detention.

How frightening is it that this includes murderers, rapists and child sex offenders.

Over a third have already re-offended.

Labor has handed out visas without proper checks, even to people from terrorist-controlled regions.

They’ve scrapped the very tools that kept our borders secure and given criminals a free pass.

Our communities are paying the price with crime on the rise, break-ins, youth violence, drug trafficking and gang firebombing wreaking havoc in our suburbs.

And now, antisemitism is exploding in our schools, universities and places of worship with weak leadership from a Prime Minister too scared to stand up and say enough is enough.

Only a Dutton Coalition Government will take the decisive action needed to restore law and order.

We’ll launch Operation Safer Communities that will deliver over $750 million in targeted investment to crack down on crime, restore border security and make our streets safer.

Our plan includes:

🔒 Border security restored — Halving visa appeal delays, deporting violent criminals and bringing back Operation Sovereign Borders in full.

✡️ Fighting antisemitism — A national taskforce led by the AFP, a judicial inquiry into university antisemitism, armed guards at Jewish schools and synagogues and major investments in Holocaust education.

🛡️ Protecting our kids — Doubling funding for child exploitation investigations, raising the age limit for social media to 16 and giving parents access to child sex offender disclosures.

👮‍♂️ Restoring law and order — A $355 million strike team to bust organised crime and drug syndicates, new knife crime laws, a ban on criminals posting violence online and AFP-led crackdowns on corruption in the construction industry.

💰 Seizing dirty money — Taking the profits of crime and reinvesting them in communities hit hardest by criminal activity.

We’ll bring back the Safer Communities Fund and support local projects that improve social cohesion, prevent crime and strengthen our neighbourhoods.

Only Peter Dutton and the Coalition have the strength and experience to protect our country, our borders and our way of life.

RESTORING THE DREAM OF HOME OWNERSHIP

Under Labor, the Aussie dream of owning a home is slipping away.

Building approvals are at their lowest level in over a decade.

Rents are soaring.

And young Australians are being priced out, while Labor continues its reckless migration surge despite well-established housing shortages.

Only the Coalition has a real plan to turn this around.

A Dutton Coalition Government will let first home buyers deduct interest on the first $650,000 of their mortgage for five years.

This will save eligible buyers up to $12,000 a year.

It applies only to new homes, boosting supply and creating jobs.

We’ll also:

• Lift the caps on our successful Home Guarantee Scheme to help more Australians buy their first home

• Unlock 500,000 new homes with a $5 billion Housing Infrastructure Fund

• Cut migration and ban foreign buyers from purchasing existing homes for two years

• Let buyers access up to $50,000 of their super to get a deposit together

• Restore the Building and Construction Commission to bring down building costs

  
  

Peter Dutton and the Coalition will get homes built, costs down and first home buyers in the door.

Labor talks. We build.

Lastly, just remember that together, we've brought this campaign to the edge of victory.

Just like we defeated the divisive Voice proposal in 2023, I am confident that it’s not over yet and together, we can defeat Mr Albanese’s incompetent and reckless Labor Government.

The choice before the Australian people has never been clearer and they all know it.

With just days to go, your efforts at prepoll and on election day will be the difference between more of the same under Labor and a strong alternative in a Coalition Government under Peter Dutton.
